Carving Pumkins and Trunk or Treat

We started Halloween a little early this year. Last night our ward held a "trunk or treat/ Safety preparedness fair" in our cul-de-sac. Justin's mom and dad as well has his brother Rob and his wife and two kids came over to the house. We had dinner which was delicious thanks to my mother in law and her cooking. After dinner we dressed the kids up in their costumes. Chance was a grim reaper, Kelcee was a Fairy butterfly, Petyon was a cute little mouse, Jaxson was Batman and Madison was a cute little pumpkin. I was suprised that Peyton put her costume on. We have been fighting with her for the last couple of weeks trying to get her to put it on, the last time Alexx and I put it on she screamed "bloody murder" tears and everything. Anyway we had to bribe her with candy but she finally put it on. She was adorable. Jaxson was scared of all the kids with masks on. He wanted to hide out in his parents car, Uncle Justin came to the rescue... and wouldn't let the scary kids get to Jaxson. Justin and Rob took the Jaxson and Peyton around the cul-de-sac to trunk or treat while I manned the candy bowl. We had several kids come around 3 and 4 times. It was a lot of fun.

After the Trunk or Treat we retreated to the house to start Carving pumpkins. We had 8 pumpkins that needed to be cleaned and carved. Everyone got involved somehow. Some actually jumped in and carved their own pumpkin while others watched the kids and took pictures. They all turned out "original" to say the least. My pumpkin didn't turn out the way I would have liked it too, I ended up messing it up by breaking it. But oh well that gives it character right? Kelcee had to be home by 8:30 so we got her pumpkin all carved out and then Grandma and Grandpa took her home. We were supposed to have Cheyenne too but she ended up going to a gymnastic meet and didn't get home in time. We missed her, we love having her with our family. I love having all my kids together. .
