1st Class

Tonight Chance received his 1st Class Rank in scouts. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments. Between Karate and scouts he is doing well in both of them. On the 17th of April he will compete in the inter-school karate championship. It will be exciting to watch him compete. Here are a couple of pictures from the Court of Honor tonight.

Pinning my pin on me.... how sweet is that ... I love this boy!

Kissing his mama.... I really am so proud of this boy!

Here we are learning about the rank of 1st class.... and what it means to the boys.

Primary Songs

After church yesterday we were on our way home (mind you we live 2 blocks from the church)... when Peyton breaks out into song. She starts singing "Follow the Prophet, Follow the Prophet... don't go astray" then tells me to help her. So I don't sing well but I love love love to sing Primary songs with Peyton. It amazes me how fast she learns the songs and is so enthusiastic about singing them. Which brings me to my next thought... as I was sitting in singing / sharing time in Primary I thought to myself how sad it is the the senior primary doesn't like to sing. I look around the room and there are only a handful of kids even singing... the oldest kids on occasion will sing a song here and there but for the most part it is the younger ones that sing. I love hearing Primary songs as it has always helped me feel the Spirit. It just makes me sad that the older the kids get the less they like to sing... it is as if they think they are too old to sing. I encourage all my kids in my class to participate but yet to no avail... they still would rather play with paper... pencils or anything other than sing. Makes me sad... :( Those that sing each and every week bring a smile to my face... (Thank you Cassidy Toone for all you do). Truly I do feel the My Saviors Love with each and every song. I only wish we could just once have everyone in the Primary sing as enthusiastic as Cassidy does....

Peyton continued her singing through out the night... it has been such a joy having her in Primary. She loves her teachers and now looks foward to going to Primary each and every week.... as for me, I love to go to Singing time and feel the Spirit there....

Painting the house

Here are some pictures of the new paint in the house. This is the picture of my new mirror on the wall in the dining room.

This is the wall by the front door....

This is the wall between the front room (sitting room) and the dining room. Yes it is black.

We are not quite finished... we are still working on painting all the picture frames from brown to black. It has been a work in progress but it has been fun.

A Day with Peyton

Today I kept Peyton home cuz she spent the night coughing and I felt so bad for her and didn't want to make my babysitter deal with it either.... so I kept her home and we had a day together. We spent the morning watching non other than Hannah Montana.... oh yea 3 times we watch it. Peyton loves this show so much that she has it practically memorized. She can tell you what Travis says to Hannah and what Hannah says at the end of the show... it is quite funny to watch... plus she sing and dances along with the show. She even tries to mimic the moves that Hannah does at the end of the show. Way to cute.... So I had to make a quick trip to Kaysville to pick up my laptop and as we were leaving I got a phone call from a dear friend who was actually at my work looking for me... Erin you should have known I wasn't home I posted it on Facebook.... is what I told her. Guess she didn't check her Facebook before she left her house. Peyton and I joined her and Cambree for lunch. It was a divine lunch with some fabulous women. Cambree is Erin's 14 month old little girl... Peyton loved making Cambree laugh. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to do it again before they go back to London... (that is where her husband is stationed). Her and Cambree have been here since he was deployed to Cypris... and will go back when he has completed his deployment in May. I will be sad when she goes back. After lunch we headed to Kaysville to pick up the laptop (glad to have it back).... then home again to have "quiet time" where we ended up watching yet again Hannah Montana..... um if you are keeping track that was the 4th time I had seen it.... and that wasn't the end of the show... we watched it one more time before she went to bed. I am so tired of that movie but still find myself watching it over and over and over again. We ended the night with a quick trip to Wal-Mart where we had to get her a green shirt so she wouldn't get pinched tomorrow (St. Patty's day)... She is finally sleeping and I hope she doesn't cough all night again. Nothing makes me sadder than when my babies are sick....

Weekend....

Here is a recap of my weekend.... Saturday we had our Quarterly Primary Activity at the church and being a teacher I took Peyton and Kelcee and enjoyed the morning with them. We also took Tess (our neighbor friend) and Kaylee (another neighbor friend). We had a great time learning about how to prepare to go to the Temple. Which is fun for me to experience with my kids as we are all preparing to go through the Temple. After the activity, I headed home to work on a small project for my sweet neighbors the Toones. I have a wonderful friend Nichole who cut out some special saying in Vinyl and we put them on tiles. I loved putting these together as they meant so much to me, and I couldn't wait to give them to the family. After working on the tiles it was time to take Kelcee home to her mom's. Peyton was so sad when she left. Peyton has been going through a lot of Missing Emotions and I only wish I knew how to help her know it is OK to "miss" someone. Kelcee was sad too cuz she didn't get a chance to see her dad as he was at work. Saturday night Justin and I went with 2 other couples (Rick and Murranda, Ryan and MiKell) some of our really great friends out on a date. We dined at Wingers in Kaysville and then went to the Kaysville Theater to watch The BlindSide.... OMGosh I loved this movie. Mind you it has been almost 4 years since Justin and I have seen a movie together. Yea we had a great time. Chance was my babysitter for Peyton... we returned home to a house meaning that he didn't burn down the house and everything was still in great shape. She was bathed and ready for bed.. What a great babysitter! I loved getting out with my husband and friends... Thanks guys and we really need to do that more often.
Sunday came and it was time to go to church... I remembered that Peyton was supposed to give the Scripture in opening exercises ... crap I thought I don't have one yet... lucky for me I found one using the LDS.org website... however when it came time for her to give the scripture... she just buried her head in my shoulder and I ended up reading the scripture for her... she had a little bit of stage fright. But what 3 year old do you know that would be able to stand before a bunch of kids and recite what her mom whispers in her ear.... it was cute. Justin and I also started the Temple Prep classes, I am so excited about this. Life is so good right now.
After church we went to grab something for dinner.... since we didn't have any food in the house we went out to Subway.... then made a quick stop at the Mall to check on some goggles for upcoming 4 wheeling trips. When walking out of the Mall... Peyton ran up to one of the doors that was opening and threw her arms around Kelcee.. She was there with her mom getting her new Easter dress and was walking out at the same time we were... WOW talk about coincidence. Peyton was so excited to see Kelcee and Kelcee was excited to see her dad. Since she hadn't gotten the chance the day before. We gave our hugs and kisses and then went to leave... I picked up Peyton and she kept reaching for Kelcee and saying "Kelcee, Kelcee"... she even started to cry as she saw Kelcee walk away! How sad was that. I wish we had Kelcee more and had the opportunity to enjoy her and spend more time with her. If only it was that easy huh? We had an amazing weekend.... we are truly blessed in every way possible.

Dinner with our Friends

Last night we had the Toones (Nathan, Brenda, Cassidy, and Braden) for dinner. We have been planning this for the last 2 weeks. I was a "nervous reck", I always get this way when we have company over for dinner or for parties. I had planned on making what was supposed to be a 30 min dinner complements of the Pampered Chef.... however not thinking about it I doubled the recipe and yes it took twice a long to cook. After all my fretting and stressing it was an amazing night. The kids all played and got along while the adults had a fascinating conversation... Had a wonderful time and was thinking to myself, "why haven't we done this before?" I only wish we would have a while ago so we could have enjoyed Becca and Rachel a little longer... We are going to miss them... Peyton prays every night for them and their family. What an amazing family... Love them with all my heart and Yes we will be having them over for dinner more often, as well as the rest of the neighborhood... Yes I LOVE with a capital OVE neighborhood BBQ's. Looking forward to Summer so we can all get out and enjoy each others company. I have to live in the best neighborhood ever. We have always talked about moving only because I have an extreme dislike for the house... but after putting in a few hours of painting and a few other touch ups we have decided that were we are is were we are supposed to be. Again I have to live in the best neighborhood ever! I'm so blessed to be surrounded by amazing friends.... whom I can call FAMILY!!

Going To Day Care

For the last couple of days when I have dropped Peyton off at the day care she has told me "Momma, I do it myself"... meaning she wants to go to the door by herself. She put her diaper bag over her shoulder and walks up to the door... puts the bag down and opens the screen door to knock on the door. This has been quiet an adjustment for me as she is still my baby girl. She turns around half way to the door and blows me kisses.... this just melts my heart. She is growing up so big and there is nothting I can do about it. Last night she was coloring and I noticed she was trying to write her name... I had her "trace" her name about a week ago and she is already trying to write it herself. She gets the P E and the O but is still trying to figure out the Y T and N.... but to me this is a huge accomplishment... I never thought when she was 3 that she would be writing her name.

One other thing that amazes me is how she will scroll through my Ipod and find the exact song she is looking for... mind you I have over 1000 songs on there and there are 3 to 5 that she loves to listen too.. so for her to beable to find the 3 songs that she loves amazes me... What a girl...

Monday's

So I can honestly say I don't care for Mondays... let a lone Monday Mornings.... Ever since Justin's work schedule changed from Monday - Friday to Tuesday - Saturday I've dreaded Monday mornings even more. I have to wake up and get ready by myself and try to keep quiet so Peyton will sleep in for him. Usually I can make out the door with out her even stirring... this morning I didn't even want to get out of bed... I almost slept through my alarm... so I was running a little behind... where I don't have to take Peyton to day care I can just head right to work... not the case this morning... totally turned and headed towards the babysitters... yeah oops that didn't help me being late at all. Then I had to stop and get my "cold coffee" aka Pepesi and as I was walking out of the store the girl said "Um you left your keys"... which I would have totally figured that out as I reached into my pocket to find them... good thing she was there to keep me on my toes. I get to work and I cannot keep my eyes open. I feel like a total space cadet and cannot concentrate. I only hope today will get better.... we shall see. Lots to do when I get home tonight.

Dentist

So Peyton had her "First" trip to the dentist yesterday. She was such a big girl. At first she didn't want to go in cuz she said "I don't have any holes in my teeth". To which I replied that is good but we still need to have the dentist look at them and make sure. She really wasn't sure what to do... When they called us back she jumped up into the "x-ray" chair and sat there like a big girl. She did everything the dental assistant asked her to do. I couldn't have been more proud. When the x-rays were done we went into the room and she jumped up into the chair and sat back. They now have TV's on the ceiling for the kids to watch... and they have your choice of 4 movies you can enjoy... including an head set to listen to it.... Wow technology has come a long ways. When I went to the dentist we had to read Posters placed on the ceiling... after the first 10 min of sitting in the chair I had them memorized... they always looked a little different when they put the "air plane" gas on you...

Anyway she was quite the trooper... didn't move a muscle when they cleaned and even checked out her teeth. Inface we couldn't even get her to talk to find out what kind of tooth paste she wanted... finally after some coxing she said she wanted blue... (not sure why blue is her favorite color... guess that could be my fault). After seeing the dentist he gave her a "clean bill of health"... NO CAVITIES! Yeah! I am one proud mamma!!!

My Cute Kids!!!
